The Rhätische Bahn placed an order with the Schötler Maschinen company (Schöma) in Germany for 6 new shunting engines. The diesel-hydraulic drives with twin-disc powershift gearboxes were supplied by Cummins, and Selectron supplied the vehicle control systems.
The shunting engines (Tm 2/2 115..120 ) were supplied by Schöma in the autumn of 2006. Railtec Systems Ltd. developed the software necessary for controlling the following functions:
Rotational speed of the diesel motor
• preset RPM for the diesel motor
• overspeed protection
• monitoring and protection of the diesel motor
Automatic gear shift
• control during manual operation
• control during automatic operation
• monitoring and protection of the gearbox
• support for static and dynamic commissioning
