Railtec-Systems Ltd. has supplied support services to Stadler Bussnang AG in the course of further development of the vehicle control software for FLIRT class trains.

RABe 523: FLIRT city railway, Zug
RABe 526: FLIRT Seehas and FLIRT SOB
RABe 527: FLIRT TRN (Transports Régionaux Neuchâtelois)
This involved:
• implementation of customer specific requirements
• achieving compliance with approval authority requirements
• improvements to the vehicle handling characteristics
• improving the efficiency and reliability of the software
Changes were made in various sections of the software such as:
• automatic storage of operating data
• detailed display of battery current values
• extension to allow individual adjustment of the wheel flange lubrication
• optimisation of the speed regulator for coupling operations
• modification of diagnostic messages
All the programming changes made were documented in detailed outcome assessments. The modified software was tested using hardware models and checklists for vehicle tests were drawn up.
Additional module tests were drawn up for safety-relevant program sections in which the exact function in each case was systematically tested.
