FLIRT Alsace
Railtec-Systems Ltd. provided support services to Stadler Bussnang AG during the development of vehicle control device software for improved FLIRT class vehicles. For the Alsace project (RABe 522 for the SBB), this involved mainly program sections which are required for the approval process and operation in France.
Recognition of the current electrical supply system (15kV, 16 2/3 Hz / 25kV, 50Hz)
Modification for new current rectification software
Secure switching between the various electrical supply systems
• at a standstill
• during travel
• semiautomatic

Energy measurement in the current electrical supply system
Switching between the respective national safety control systems
Implementation of the French safety control system
Alternative realisation of the wheel diameter adjustment
Further modifications, e.g. automatic retraction of the rear-view mirror, controlled removal of WC waste water etc.
In connection with other FLIRT projects additional modifications were carried out which improved program efficiency and reliability.
A software version was developed which can be implemented both in the FLIRT Alsace (RABe 522) as well as in the FLIRT experimental vehicle (RABe 521 011 of the SBB).
The new program sections were tested on hardware models as well as in the experimental vehicle.
